Cameron Arnett's range seems to know no limits. The Haitian born actor brought us everything from the chilling courtroom scene in Stand Your Ground to the father daughter Kleenex moments of Overcomer. The award winning actor even made us despise his role as the heinous Solomon Grant in Discarded Things. We never know what to expect and his upcoming projects are no exception.
On September 16, in theaters nationwide Arnett will be featured alongside Brett Varvel of American Underdog and Todd Terry of Vindication in the film Running the Bases.
This film follows the career of a small town baseball coach who takes a job at a 6A high school. As a man of faith he is confronted on his nonconventional coaching methods and has to make a decision. Cameron Arnett takes on the role of Sam Parker, a character described as insightful and brilliant yet quirky. While we can see a bit of Thomas Hill's wisdom in the character, audiences may not be expecting the lighter side of Sam Parker.
Running the Bases is simply the next in a succession of roles for Arnett in faith based film. In 2020's I Still Believe, the Jeremy Camp story, Arnett came alongside Riverdale's KJ Apa and Britt Robertson as the doctor who diagnoses the wife's cancer. 2021 brought us his role of Special Agent Colbert in Don't Say My Name, a harrowing story inspired by true events of human trafficking. Don't Say My Name recently made its international premiere in August of this year in the Dominican Republic after releasing in theaters nationwide the previous year.
Running the Bases is not Terry and Arnett's first collaboration, in that both appeared in Vindication Season 2 and are set to appear in Season 3. Arnett will also appear as Dr. Hassler in The Author which premiered in Kansas City and Baton Rouge early fall of this year. First Responders is set to release on October 24, followed by the movie I CAN, release date yet to be announced.
For those of you that enjoy a good TV series, we have you covered too. Be on the look out for the series, Eleanor's Bench and Saving Grace along with These Stones from Cheryl McKay Price, writer of The Ultimate Gift and Extraordinary.
